Updating the ipod

So if the update isn't showing up for you directly on your device and you just can't wait any longer to update, follow along to update the old fashioned way using i Tunes.

You'll need to make sure your device is capable of running i OS 6.

Sure, the Nano got a built-in pedometer, bigger icons and a 18 different clock-face designs, but hardware-wise, it hasn't changed.

In fact, if you already have last year's Nano, you can get all these features – free – via a software update.

Most of my songs are from my old computer which I now longer have, so I no longer have the songs in i Tunes.

While you can update over the air if you're already on i OS 5, you can also update via i Tunes.

If you haven't made one recently via i Cloud or i Tunes, make sure you do before proceeding.

The new decals look similar, but they have Apple logos in place of i Phone, i Pad, and i Pod icons.

Apple has also moved i Pod from first to last in the list, as the i Phone and i Pad have long overshadowed the portable media player.
